I've noticed Newfoundland has been doing quite well and setting a nice precedent.
Being in Ottawa, I am kind of stuck in the middle of it all, seeing as the parliament buildings are down the street

Thankfully though, the party I voted for in my riding was re-elected. The NDP don't seem to do well in a lot of areas, but in Ottawa Centre they've been doing good the last few elections.
I don't know what the Libs were thinking with Dion. I mean, apparently when they chose him, he was doing well and had good ideas, but I think it's pretty obvious he lacks the charisma, composure and speaking abilities required to reel in a win for the Liberals. Watching him was just...
awkward and uncomfortable. I almost wonder if they thought people would see him like Chretien, but Chretien had a lot of charisma and was quite the character. Despite his flaws, a lot of people liked him as PM as he stayed there for a damn long time, and it's not like he lost the election, he retired/stepped down.
I don't know who they will pick to replace Dion, but considering many already dislike Bob Rae from when he was NDP and Ontario Premier, he probably wouldn't be their best shot at toppling Harper's roll, but I think they might pick him anyway.
Did anyone watch the pre-election debate? That was....interesting.
Harper sat there, quiet and smug looking while the rest of the candidates verbally jumped on him. Sadly I think that helped him, because it made the other party leaders look too aggressive and angry, well, perhaps minus May, she kept herself fairly well composed.
But really, Harper looked like he'd been shot with a tranquilizer dart before the debate, and maintained a look on his face that seemed to say "Uh huh, keep talking, I know I've got this in the bag, whatever you people say is inconsequential."
