I hate 'em.

there, I said it.

And I also think orlando bloom and leonardo dicaprio act like anime characters.

so I hate 'em too.
But I love all you guys!

(although you creep me out with your manga avatars)

I don't like manga or anime either! I know my current avatar might indicate otherwise, but as a cartoony version of me, I don't mind it, and its appeal wasn't the manga aspect.

Good to know I'm not the only one here who isn't into anime or manga...I was starting to wonder.

Not sure I am totally on board about Orlando and Leo, but I kind of understand what you mean.

Oh, and CGI bugs me. Not sure why, but it does. I mean, obvious CGI, or movies made entirely in that fashion (like Final Fantasy). It's too inorganic and it distracts me from the plot, the acting and everything else that's going on.

I enjoy both anime and manga. Well..some, not all. I recently met Spike Spencer, that was pretty damn cool for me

Pariah, you always say just the right thing.

Mae: come and gimme a hug! ('cept I don't agree about CGI. I LOVED shrek! although I think any cgi movie that tries to be "serious" (such as final fantasy) fails miserably.)

Mmm_Milky: well, what can I say. These manga animators have to eat to, don't they? Anime fans have their place in this big world.

Ooh, true, movies like Shrek I do like, and I don't find the CGI distracting! I guess CGI only works for me if it's a "kids" movie, or at least in a humorous vein.

I don't like Mange & Anime either.I find the dialog very preachy.

I've read a few manga series and seen a few anime over the years and although I'm far from an expert I've never come across enough preachy dialog to turn me off those entire genres of books and animation. What's preachy about 'Excel Saga'? 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' might be loaded with religious references but preachy? I don't know about that. 'Planetes' is another example, as is 'Perfect Blue', and 'Full Metal Panic'. That's not to say that preaching doesn't exist in anime or manga. Akira Kurosawa's 'Dreams' is a pretty good example that it happens.
What manga and anime are you referring to that you find preachy?

Maybe I used the wrong word. But the best fiction says things without..saying them or having to explain or remind you of what is going on.

They seem to often go overboard in describing some object or recite speeches to one another before a fight.

I don't like the fact that even the most ordinary dude can jump through the air for fifteen minutes while reciting some lame ass speech.

Ohh right. Yeah I've seen a few that are like that. 'Samurai X' and subsequently 'Rurouni Kenshin' are bad for that. It gets pretty tedious.
