i sent a 4 song disk with a promo pack once a month ago as i was emailed by a guy who wanted to hear more tunes. a week later, he mailed me a contract.
i didnt like it, so we went back and forth, and now its looking okay.
im not looking to "make it" in the music industry. i dont do it for money. it would be nice, but unlike you(im assuming) its not my last resort.
i dont need money from my music. ive been makin tunes for as long as i can remember as a vent from the world of....you i guess. i play many different instraments, and have never had a need for other people to "help" in my solo stuff. ive been in about 20 bands in my life, ranging from funk to metal, to producing hip hop beats.
i have a pretty solid backround in this shit, and have been fortunate enough to meet the "right" people who i really like to play with or for.
so im not really understanding what you're trying to do here. does this make you feel better? i hope so...

I'd like to know the details of this contract....being that music business was one of my courses of study. Label? Who is the rep who contacted you? What were the terms and outlines of the royalty sheet? Do you have choice over who is to produce your work in the studio, or are they just jumping a bridge and allowing you to take on that responsibilty right off the bat? Or is this just some dream you have convinced yourself you're living?

well i guess this is my last post here. it was a fun run, but i think im my exhausting form dealing with you people, one has finally gotten. me . good job man. couple of mistakes, one being you gotta little wordy there, shows insecurity, and 2 if you were in this field of study you would know that a "record" contract is about exsisting work. its more of a distribution thing, however i do not know the name of the guy that will be asigned to mastering (post-production) my already exsisting recording. what i am trying to get is called a "recording" contract. that would be were they bring me to the studio and i work with them, but hey, you already knoew that...and yes you have 4 years experience drumming on me, good job. as for me being in alot of bands, i move alot and i have been trying to find the right sound for me, im still fairly close with everyone ive jammed with with 1 exception, (i fucked my old bassist girlfriend, after he cheated on her with my ex...) aside from that, that was a well thought out response. good job! as for the details of my contract and who im talking to, not a chance! lol no way im gonna jeopordise a possible great career turn for an internet fight in a forum that has at max 10 people online at any time(lol)...but its super super real. that much i assure you. ive already said its not the greatest deal ive ever heard of, but i am pleased with were ive gone. anyway, take care all! good job man.
