The Worst TV Shows

So we have a "worst movies" thread, and after coming across a show I hadn't seen before the other night, I am inspired to start a "worst TV shows" thread.

The show I came across that I believe qualifies as a really bad TV show?

The Steve Wilkos show. :i:

Any "Idol" show. No matter the country.

The multitude of reality shows given to people for being merely related to someone famous, or Hell, just knowing someone famous. Or for being remotely famous, or having been famous sometime in the past. I haven't really watched much of "famous people/families" reality shows to know for sure, but I think it's safe to say most of those suck too. I did like the Osbournes however, despite generally feeling sorry for Ozzy, given how shaky, frail and confused he appeared most of the time...
It seems like every day I hear about someone else getting their own reality show, and it's become quite ridiculous.

As much as I wanted to like it, Wipeout. I liked Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC), but part of the lulz was the Japanese, um "kitsch" which is not present in Wipeout.
Same goes for Iron Chef. The original was great, but the US version sucks.

I'll admit to watching a fair bit of reality TV and some of the shows I watch, I KNOW are bad, or are at least rather tasteless, but I do have my limits.

Also this show I caught a glimpse of the other day where dogs get married and have these elaborate weddings (well... elaborate for dogs anyway)
I have no idea what the name of it was. I didn't stick around to watch it that long to find out. And I am an animal lover... but bahhhh :whatever:

It's good to know that I am not the only one who thinks the Steve Wilkos show is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, the guy just stands there yelling and berating this "guests". I know some other "talk shows" have moments like that, but it appears to be the shows entire premise...

Heh, a dog wedding show. Haven't seen that one.
I've seen a couple of people walking outside with their dogs dressed up, wearing bonnets, "riding" in strollers though. Like they were babies. That was bizarre enough.

Oh, and there was that infamous episode of Jerry Springer where a guy was marrying his horse. :i:

There are also TV shows that I watch even though deep down I know they are bad, like "Rock of Love", for example. I feel guilty watching it because I know it's just awful, but I watch it anyway. :eye roll:

Some shows are so bad you almost can't stay away!

Like The Bachelor/The Bachelorette... *sigh* I admittedly have been sucked in to the horrors of these shows but can't seem to pull away from their lameness.

I also dislike Paranormal State on Sci-Fi. Where this show had potential as far as searching for haunted places and truth behind certain ghost stories, it loses it credibility when the investigators (or should I say actors) overact and the whole premise becomes a fake gag complete with stock ghost sounds that I had on an old Haunted Halloween tape for Trick-or-Treaters and household items falling over due to visible wires. But oh no, that's a ghost!!!! :roll:

I also have watched Flavor of Love a few times but only because I went to school with "New York" on the show. I could only stand it so long before I went and put my head through a plate-glass window.

I try to avoid most television because of the crappy shows. Most talk shows and all reality shows are completely pointless.

There is this new show that I keep seeing advertised about realtors in LA...I guess the whole thing about it is that these realtors are relatively young and are selling multi-million dollar houses. Who wants to watch a show about people making obscene amounts of money with little work involved?

I say watch Discovery and the History channel...at least then you'll learn something other than how being spoiled and rich can get you on television. :crossed:

Agreed !!!

Another shitty show is "Scare Tactics" where people intentionally set up unsuspecting victims and litterly scare the shit out of them for fun. And the situations they involve these people in are not remotely funny or anything to joke about. It's just gay!!!

Any of those CSI type shows. There is a craze for them lately. Like there was for those stupid court shows in the mid 90's. I hated them too.

Also Walker Texas Ranger is one of the worst ever.

And all these shows are popular. I don't get it.

The worse reality shows are the ones on MTV. That's reality if you're an annoying whinny trust fund baby I guess.

gonna have to agree with paranormal state... it had promise, right up till "dead time" and then it lost all sense of credibility when they brought in Lorraine Warren, the hack that she and her dead husband Ed is/was...

lost all respect for them when I found out they do there ghost hunting demonolgy stuff for free, just the cost of first class round trip airfares, first class hotels for minimum 7 days, all expenses paid, including meals and such... I mean for fuck sakes if I knew that I could get first class vacation spots investigating ghosts and demons, then I would so be there...

oh, yeah and those drug rehab shows... I don't need to see some poor schmuck puking his guts out when he's jonesing and goin through dt's... have a little fuckin respect for these people for gods sakes...
