How did slavery influence the south’s economy, society, and culture prior to the Civil War? Why were most southerners so resistant to abolition? How did southerners defend slavery? Why did slavery as a labor system upset northerners? What labor system did they support?
...wtf? Are you randomly trying to get us to do your homework for you? NOT ON MY WATCH, SISTER!
Also, back on topic, yes, the economy had a direct impact on the situation. Granted, they were freaking whackadoos, but I didn't see anything in the article that stated they lost their jobs for causes unrelated to the reasons every other motherfucker in the country is losing their jobs. Some people can't handle stress, can't handle reality, and thrown together with a weird ass interest in the Da Vinci Code or Mormonism or whatever else they were into, their fragile little brains snapped and they went all Columbine on their little world. From a psychological perspective, it put them in total control of their reality. They were nuts, though. The failing economy doesn't excuse them. It's just another element to look at to gain more perspective on the event.
