I have 2 dreams that are re-occurring...

I'm not sure what it means, that they are re-occurring...

One is more of a re-occurring theme... that theme being zombies... I'm always dreaming about fighting or running away from zombies...

One of them I had when i was like 14... but i remember it clearly still...

i was running with some people along a beach... to the right was the water, to the left was a hill with trees... and there was that spooky light and fog effect coming through the trees...

my friends got taken down but i escaped... until i got surrounded... so then i ran to the end of this dock.... i looked into the water and just saw a shit load of circular objects... but couldn't tell what they were... so i dove in and started swimming out, thinking zombies can't swim and i'll be safe... and then those circles were the outlines of zombie heads, as they were all packed in standing on the ocean floor... and then they started floating up all around me... so i swam like a madman... and there was this couch floating in the middle... which i climbed on to... and there was a beautiful girl there... one whom i fell immediately in love with... she leaned in and kissed me... and then her eyes rolled back, and she was a zombie... she ended up chasing me around the couch, until i decided to give up and let her catch me... i woke up just as she got to me though... so weird...

the other zombie dreams aren't memorable... however the difference this time is that i don't run from zombies, i fight them,

my other re-occuring dream is that of grinding my teeth until they shatter...

this one freaks me out the most.... like makes me wake up in a panic...

i start grinding my teeth as hard as i can... the feeling i have is like that of a loose tooth... it hurts and it feels good at the same time when yer working it loose...

and i keep doing it and doing it... and it starts hurting even more... and then i can feel and hear my teeth cracking but i can''t stop... and all of a sudden my teeth shatter, and yet i still don't stop, i start grinding these sharp broken teeth into each other and into my gums and that's when i wake up... frantically checking my teeth...

it freaks me out because i'm semi-aware that i'm dreaming but i can't stop it... and then i think... oh fuck... this time it's not a dream, it's real... which is why it is so god damn frighening...

dear lord... i have the shivers now...

anyone else have re-occurring dreams?

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!

Crow I have re- occuring dreams all the time.. but mine is of the Devil wanting to have me as like his wife or something.. They are awful, and very graphic and vivid. I don't quite understand them myself.. But I have been reading a book that has helped me to quite understand the devil and demons.. I actually told Solo the authors name.. Jeffery Burton Russell...Its called the Devil .. Maybe you should check it out.. Never know it might help.. All the advice I can give you is to not be scared of it.. Try to manage your dreams because you are the only one who can control them.. Maybe like meditate before going to bed or humming can be a good thing to do before bed.. It can help with the relaxation process before Deep sleep occurs.. But these are just suggestions..

Well, I'm not sure about the earlier zombie dream, but the tooth loss one is a dream that lots of people have and its definition often pops up in dream dictionaries, like this one: http://psychology.suite101.com/article.cfm/teeth_falling_out_in_dreams - dreaming about teeth falling out can reflect feelings of powerlessness, fears of change, fears of growing old, or fear of failure. Alternatively, you may literally grind your teeth while you sleep!

I've never had the tooth loss dream (yet) though. The only recurring dream I've ever had is falling off of cliffs or towers - this is a common dream that appears in dream dictionaries too: it just reflects the actual sensation of falling asleep.

tell me you've read the zombie survival guide or wwz? Seriously i have zombie dreams all the time too. But then again i actually believe a zombie apocalypse is plausible and sleep with a bat in my bed.

other than zombie dreams i've been having this one over and over where a t-rex is chasing me through a jungle... it never ends well. The fuck you suppose that means?

yah i've read into the tooth thing... but it's not quite right....

all those dream analysis is about tooth loss... like rotting teeth, and teeth falling out..

this is quite different... this is me grinding my teeth into broken shards and then grinding the shards into my gums and it hurts but the same time feels good in a way....

awwww we're zombie dream buddies... where we get horribly maimed and bloodied... it's cute!

i've only read part of the survival guide... i don't own it myself... YET... i feel now... that it is imperative to my survival!

Dabi, I have a confession.

I haven't read it yet...

As far as I know, when it comes to dreams where you are being chased or attacked by zombies, monsters, etc., those things generally represent issues you are struggling with, or trying to avoid, suppress, or run away from.

By from what I've gathered via psych information, yes. You are at least trying to fight.
Although in my case, when I fight, it doesn't matter what I do, I can't win and the thing lives on. I've gone to rather graphic and drastic measures in my dreams to fight off the baddies too. :i:

For me though, the inability to successful "win" the struggle is not surprising, as many of the things I would be dreaming about, in terms of issues, worries and struggles are not things I can control or do much about.

I had a zombie dream once. I dreamt that I was surviving through a zombie apocalypse where most of the people were zombified, and the only safe place was the countryside and to be on the move. I didn't see any of the zombies though - I was hanging out with the survivors. I just seemed to know that this was happening somewhere else from where I was: like the backstory of a movie.

Anyway, I dreamt that I was on the back of a truck that was being driven by other humans. The truck was open back, and I saw a small white rabbit was running after the truck, and then suddenly I realised that the rabbit was zombified and covered with blood. It shot right up off of the ground and bit me on the throat, before I could knock it away. I remember saying: "Fuck, it can spread to animals too!"

Then I woke up with a strange "huh?" feeling in my mind. Because of course, I knew I'd seen that rabbit somewhere before... And then I realised that I was thinking of the Beast of Caerbannog, and I'd been watching "Monty Python & The Holy Grail" a few nights previously.

That's not a joke, by the way. - That was a real dream of mine, and the meaning of it is plain: I watch too many films... :i:
