What do you think?

I think they're 16 different kinds of EPIC. Max Cavalera era, obviously.

Fucking amazing.

No more need be said.

I was pretty hardcore into them from BTR through Chaos AD.
For a whole summer my friends and I would make sure to catch the later part of Headbangers Ball because they'd always play Refuse/Resist, or the Territory video.

Roots was kind of "meh". Looking back, it really only has a couple decent tracks. I never really appreciated the Korn-tinged/Ross Robinson angle they were trying to hop on to sell more records. I thought they had a pretty distincitive sound as it was.

I actually saw one of the last shows Max did with the band in 1996. Paulo and Andreas seemed really distant and non-communicative with Max throughout the show. I don't think anyone knew at the time what was going on with the band internally. A few months later, he left the band.

I fucking love them. So long as it had Max in it, it was fine by me.

But yes, Roots was NOT their best album with Max, but I still like it.
