I abhore the iconography and ideals behind NS metal. Sorry. I refuse to listen to it. I can't bring myself to.

What is NS metal? I'm sorry, but I'm curious.

I know this sounds strange, but I always thought of Otep as being a very Pagan band. I have their Sevas Tra album, and many of their songs on it sound very lyrically Pagan to me.

I know what it is. Doesn't mean I adhere to the ideals, mate. As for being a "silly cunt", I'm not the one resorting to crappy personal insults just because someone else dislikes a genre that I listen to, so yeah, great point. Also, the last time I looked, the Reich Eagle was a symbol of Reich Office, not of NS metal, so I fail to see where my interest in history coupled with an avatar of a band logo (a band whom are, incidentally, not Naztional Socialist) would render me a hypocrite. The eagle was not just a symbol for the Nazis. It was used in every Reich, not just Hitler's Third.

It was a symbol of the NSDAP and of the 3rd Reich, and other orgs, I'm sure in Nazi Germany. I'm not a History Prof., but I would say the eagle design specifically in that fashion as in the Slayer avatar are exclusive to Germany. I guess then you would have no problem displaying the Swastika as an avatar either, since of course it's a Far Eastern agricultural good luck charm, eh? I didn't resort to insults because you don't care for my music, obviously.

No, it was a symbol of every Reich throughout "German" history. It was not exclusive to Hitler, despite it being commonly associated with his Reich. There is also one marked difference between the Slayer Eagle and that of the Reich - the Reich Eagle usually has the head turned the other way.



Every Reich was exclusive to Germany, so the Eagle would have been exclusive to Germany - it stands to reason. Actually, that isn't technically true, as Germany had only recently been unified at the outbreak of WWII, after bing split into warring provinces such as Prussia, so it would have applied to the Germanic provinces. It is still illegal to depict anything relating to National Socialism in all its forms in Germany and Austria.



I wouldn't, no. As long as that was how it was depicted - IE, not in conjunction with the red and white emblam, or turned on the angle, as the NSDAP used it.

You seem to be under the impression that an interest in, discussion of, and satirical depiction of, anything to do with National Socialism is the same as supporting it. It isn't. Not that the Eagle is a Nazi concoction; as I have already said, it was used by many Regimes. Perhaps "iconography" was used in haste... I perhaps should have said the "ideals".. Oh wait, I did.

My fav pagan metal band of the moment has to be PRIMORDIAL...they just kick ass!!! Viking metal such as Storm and Satyricon are fucking ace aswell!!!!

Favorite pagan metal??? well, at the moment I really like Adversus, who are sort of a gothic/folk/electro band, with a touch of metal guitar here and there..... I really like Skyforger, Finntroll, In Extremo, Subway to Sally, Tanzwut, Schandmaul, mid-era Bathory, and Sunchariot.

NS metal??? Don`t really like the stuff, sorry.
Osculum Infame and Drudkh are ok, but they don`t really broadcast racism in their music. Burzum, Nokturnal Mortum, and Graveland are decent, if not totally overrated.....
