Amazing what the blind can do with a camera. Most of the time I couldn't even take a decent picture.

It started out as an experiment, then I guess it became popular. It's interesting to see from their perspective though, I find it fascinating.

I don't... really see how its their perspective...

I mean.. they hold a camera and take a picture..

They never see it. They don't perceive it. It's... I dunno. That actually makes me sad.

I couldn't imagine not seeing. I think it would be one of the most devastating things ever.

I'm with O on this one... First off the site doesn't work for me...but if you're blind... You can't know what you're taking photos off... It doesn't make any sense to me.

They do know what they are taking pictures of. They can hear and/or feel it, that is why they aimed the camera *there*. These photos are not meant to be viewed like how you would with professional photography.

But okay, to each of their own I guess. Either it's pointless to you. Or it's not.

Okay, I can see that, feeling and hearing, but there is much more to photography then that is all I'm saying. It just doesn't make sense to me.

More to photography than using all four other senses as opposed to just one?

There's no way you could do it. For one you can't know how much light there is. You don't know how fast to make your shutter speed or where to put your F-Stop.

No they can't. And they don't need to. Why?

For the second time, this is NOT professional photography. They use a simple film with auto flash camera and I don't expect them to churn out REALLY ABSOLUTELY fantastic artworks when I first heard about this project, and most of their pictures are out of focus and dark, yes. These are just snapshots of their daily lives. You didn't get a chance to see the gallery and you're assuming it's senseless and bad photography and all that. That's fine, I respect that. And just to repeat, lather and rinse: It's NOT professional photography.

I guess I'm the only crazy idiotic person who thinks the blind SHOULD take up photography. Especially if that makes them happy. It's not senseless to me.

I'm with Pinxy and Brandi. It is inspiring what imagination and actually wanting to learn can work together to create. In a way, their amateur photographs are better than any professional shots, because they had to put so much more into them in order to create a finished product. There are some beautiful pictures on the sight.

Yes, I understand it's NOT professional photography. If it makes them happy then great, I'm say I don't understand. I don't understand how you can enjoy something that is purely visual when you can't see. It doesn't make sense to me.
