but be careful of poetry.com , i've heard bad things about that site, especially when they want you to start buying their anthologies..

Um, yeah, not to burst your bubble but they will publish any poem. My poem Oracle is posted there and its nowhere near my best poem. I posted it for kicks and then they sent me a bunch of stuff about ordering a book that has my poem in it. Fortunately I am old and wise and threw those out. Be careful.

conrats on the publishing thing
back in the day, I realized I would never get any of my morbid poetry published, so I wrote one about the environment or something rather cliche...and poety international (poetry.com, and several other aliases) were all like "we think your stuff is so great, we want to put in on a tape and a plaque and a book (all of which you can buy from us) and blah blah" Thankfully, I can only be strung as a fool for so long, and I never sent them didly...then I found out what a big scam job they were, have oyu SEEN some of the crap they publish? you gotta watch yourself.

Submit it to them at that site. They'll publish anything (no offense Bast), example: They've published me twice.

They have a neat Rhyming helper on that site.

Does anyone know of a place (legit) that does something similar with Short Stories?

can't help w/the short stories, but if I did find this site a long time ago, and it has some pretty basic stuff about publishing poetry...even a few good ideas
