I've found myself with a budding vampire obsession and I need some good vampire books to either a) get it out of my system or b) get it established for good.
Stuff I've read until now: Bram Stoker's Dracula - was pretty ok Sheridan le Fanu's Carmilla - ok, that's just a novella, but a good one, nevertheless Vampire:The Masquerade Gehenna:Final nights - the V:TM computer games were great, the V:TM universe is awesome but this book was pure crap. The characters (especially Beckett) acted more stupid than they had the right to be, and it all read like an adaptation of the transcript of a tabletop V:TM game. You could almost hear the storyteller going "ok, you failed your humanity roll" in the background. Anne Rice's Interview with a vampire - bored me to death.
