I have to second this.
Even though I disagree with Stephen king's approach to plot, I have to recommend this book.
As to the inspiration of what to write or how to make it different from all the stories that came before it, I have to leave that in your hands. A story is the writers baby and I can't tell you how to raise your kids. Each writer must learn to write as only they can.
I can advise you check out 101 reason to stop writing.
http://101reasonstostopwriting.com/I know it sounds weird but this site can give you some idea of what your getting yourself into and even things not to do. Most writers will never be able to live solely off the income from their writing. You have to do it because you really really want to write, and then you have to do it alot. If you were to build a house or even a dog house, the first one will probably suck. But if you keep doing it and doing it you may be able to get good enough to write a story that a publisher will want.
Getting published is an entire other world.
