Poe...?

I don't read much, or at all, so everything comes from my education process...

My faves are

Terry Pratchett- for comedy fantasy

and Iain (m) Banks for twisted weird shit.

When people like BOTH of these authors I know there's a good chance that they'll get my sense of humor and not be afraid of me.

The first book I would read by her is called Anthem. It's a farely quick read. She is an objective writer. I'm re-reading the Fountainhead right now. Very excellent book. Something you should check out.

Yes, Anthem is a great book and is very short. She is not so much objective, she has been harbored as a "self preservasist"
The best book by her is Atlas Shrugged in my opinion.

I like Annie Proulx, Alice Munroe, Raymond Carver, Tess Gallagher, Rick Moody, ummm, I am forgetting lots of great authors though, let me get back to you on this. . . .

Sir Arthur Conan Doil (sp?)

I think I’ve read all of Sherlock Holmes novels

I also like Agatha Cristy, but I didn’t read any novels, I’m judging by the films of Elcure Puaro (sp?)
